Nutrition for Weight-Loss
Many of our clients feel confused about what to eat, when to eat and some feel completely out of control.
Some clients binge and eat emotionally or have very disordered eating. If you have tried every diet under the sun but just can’t see to lose weight, we can help you.
We do not use fad diets, severe caloric restriction or diet-pills as although these may work in the short-term, they seldom do in the longer term.
Our approach is based on giving you motivation, support and becoming your very own coach. We will coach you individually until you manage to shift all of your unwanted pounds.
You will always have access to free on-going e-mail support and phone support. Our key to success is in keeping you motivated and helping you re-gain your confidence, optimism and vitality
We will tailor a nutrition program based on your current height, weight, activity level and ensure that you are eating a balanced and healthy diet.
Our nutrition plans are based on the latest scientific research. You will be provided with clear and practical information such as sample meal plans. We will formulate an eating plan that is based on your lifestyle whether you are a shift worker, like to cook or eat take-away every night.
Are you addicted to certain foods?
Many of our patients are addicted to certain foods such as sugar, cheese and wheat. Once they remove addictive foods from their diet, they find they can shed pounds and keep the pounds off. We will help you discover if food addiction is causing you trouble.
Your individual nutrition plan begins with a 60 minute initial consultation to review your medical, nutrition and diet history and goals. During this time we will weigh you and set goals.
After the consultation, we will provide you with a personalized diet-plan based on your current weight, height and activity level. Follow-up appointments are held every 2 weeks. During this time we ask that you bring a food diary listing the foods that you ate. We will discuss any of the following as appropriate:
- Meal Planning
- Shopping Lists
- Dining out guidelines
- Eating during business travel and vacation
- Goal setting
- Exercise guidelines
